All the AFSCME locals in our region will be meeting to discuss strategies for protecting the Florida Retirement System from legislative attacks.
The meeting will take place Saturday, March 1st, 10am at the AFSCME region 3 office at 4014 Gunn Highway, Suite 20, Tampa, 33618.
ALL bargaining unit members are welcome to attend and participate in the discussion; however, only dues-paying union members will get to actually vote on whatever proposals emerge from the meeting.
This is an issue that affects us all! Please give strong consideration to attending this meeting as well as participating in on-going efforts to protect one of the best retirement systems in the country.
Please feel free to email or call me. Work 813 974-1740; home 813 673-8371.

The weather was most uncooperative but those that braved the storm and attended the union training session conducted by Hector Ramos on Wednesday, February 12, found the session well worth the effort.
Topics covered included the function of the union, union officer responsibilities, and more. Hector Ramos answered questions from those in attendance and distributed informational handouts. Members left the session with a wealth of knowledge and the promise of additional sessions in the future!
Hector Ramos, Director of Region 3 AFSCME will be conducting a general Union Training on Wednesday, February 12—this coming Wednesday!
